【課題】電力変換装置を用いて始動・停止を頻繁に繰り返す用途に用いられる場合において、設備側からの使い勝手の向上を図った電力変換装置及びパワーサイクル寿命予測方法を提供する。【解決手段】可変電圧可変周波数の交流電力を供給する電力変換回路1〜3と、電力変換回路内のパワー半導体9の温度を検出する検出回路11と、検出回路11での検出値でパワー半導体9のパワーサイクル寿命を診断する演算装置とを備えたもので、演算装置は、検出回路11で検出される最大温度上昇値に基づいてパワー半導体9のパワーサイクル寿命を演算する。【選択図】図1
