【要約】【目的】 初期容量の再現性が良好で、電池の正極として用いた場合に高い負荷特性を示す非水リチウム二次電池用正極活物質としてのLiNiO2 とそれを正極に用いたリチウム二次電池の提供。【構成】 水酸化リチウムと水酸化ニッケルとをモル比でLi/Ni=1.01/1となるように秤量し、クエン酸中で混合し、スプレードライヤーで乾燥・造粒した後、ふるい分けして平均径約3μmの混合粉末を得た後、圧縮成形し、酸素気流中で熱処理して得た焼成物を粉砕して得たLiNiO2 粉末を分級して平均細孔半径が8〜50nmのLiNiO2 粒子を得る。これを導電剤および結着剤と混練して円盤状に加圧成形して図1に示すリチウム二次電池の正極2として用いる。
