一般式LixNiyM(1-y)O2(但し、Mは遷移金属,B,Al,Ga,Inの中の少なくとも1種を表し、0.05≦x≦1.10,0.7≦y≦1.0である。)で表されるリチウム複合酸化物を、CO2濃度が0.1体積%以上で、かつ露点が-15°C以下である雰囲気中でガス処理することを特徴とする正極活物質の製造方法。
