正極と、リチウムの吸蔵,放出が可能なアルミニウム-マンガン合金にリチウムを電気化学的に吸蔵したものを活物質とする負極と、リチウム塩を有機溶媒に溶解した有機電解液とを有する有機電解液二次電池であって、アルミニウム-マンガン合金が10重量%以下のマンガン合金を含有し、かつそのビッカース硬度が70以上である有機電解液二次電池。
