【要約】【目的】 本発明は微生物によって生ごみを分解処理する装置及びその充填材に関するもので、充填材の通気性を確保し、摩耗、微細化を防止し、微生物の棲息環境を好条件に維持して長期間安定に使用できるものを提供することを目的としたものである。【構成】 充填材10を見かけ比重の大きい多孔質有機物粒子と見かけ比重の小さい多孔質有機物粒子の混合物で構成する。また、生ごみ分解処理装置を、発酵分解槽8と、生ごみの投入口11と、発酵分解槽8内に設けられた撹拌手段14と、撹拌手段14を回転させる回転手段15と、発酵分解槽8内へ空気の吸引及び排出を行う送風手段17と、発酵分解槽8内に充填された前記充填材10と、前記充填材10の混合率によって回転手段15もしくは送風手段17の少なくとも一方の能力設定を切り替える切り替え手段33とを有した構成とする。
