【要約】【課題】 地合いが優れており、しかも密度の低い極細繊維不織布及びシート材料、特には濾過材として使用しても、圧力損失が低く、しかも濾過性能の優れる極細繊維不織布及びシート材料を提供すること。【解決手段】 本発明の極細繊維不織布は、繊維径が1〜4μmであり、しかも繊維長L(mm)と繊維径D(mm)との比(L/D)が800以下である極細繊維を含み、かつ繊維が実質的に絡合していない不織布からなる。好ましくは、少なくとも一部の極細繊維が融着している。本発明のシート材料は、上記極細繊維不織布からなる層を、少なくとも1層備えている。これら極細繊維不織布又はシート材料は濾過材として好適に使用できる。

Claim (excerpt)：

繊維径が1〜4μmであり、しかも繊維長L(mm)と繊維径D(mm)との比(L/D)が800以下である極細繊維を含み、かつ繊維が実質的に絡合していないことを特徴とする極細繊維不織布。
