【課題】硫黄分が十分に低く、かつ、実用上十分な発熱量を確保した環境対応軽油およびその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】環境対応軽油は、密度が0.795g/cm3以上、硫黄分が5質量ppm以下、好ましくは1質量ppm以下、全芳香族分が5〜20容量%で、かつ単位体積あたりの真発熱量が34500J/cm3以上である。硫黄分が0.5質量%以上、90容量%留出温度が370°C以下である炭化水素油を原料油とし、水素圧力3〜10MPa、反応温度280〜450°Cの反応条件下で水素化処理触媒と接触させる。【選択図】図1
