【要約】【課題】 中性子ビームの形状、速度方向等を制御する。【解決手段】 勾配磁場中に中性子ビームを通すことにより、位相空間内で中性子ビーム50を回転させ、次いで中性子ビームのスピンの向きを反転させ(52)、位相空間内における中性子ビーム52の長手方向に中性子ビームを圧縮することにより、位相空間内でサイズの小さな中性子ビーム53を得る。中性子ビーム53は、実空間では細く、平行度の高いビームに相当する。
Claim (excerpt)：
中性子ビームをビーム中心軸と直交する方向に所定の磁場勾配を有する磁場中に所定の距離だけ通過させることにより位相空間内での中性子ビームの分布形状を所望の分布形状に変化させることを特徴とする中性子ビームの制御方法。
