【要約】【課題】高温及び高圧反応用の特殊な装置を必要とすることなく、低温及び常圧でカーボンナノチューブ等を製造する。【解決手段】電気炉7により触媒3の温度を例えば535°Cに加熱し、まず、50cc/分の流量で水素ガスを反応管1内に2時間流し、触媒3を還元した後、水素と二酸化炭素の混合比が2:1の混合ガスを反応管1内に流す。混合ガス中の二酸化炭素は触媒3に接触することにより接触水素還元され、触媒3の表面にカーボンナノチューブ等の炭素が析出する。

Claim (excerpt)：

少なくとも二酸化炭素及び水素を含む混合ガスを400〜900°Cの反応温度にて遷移金属触媒に接触させ、二酸化炭素を接触水素還元することにより、前記触媒表面に炭素を析出させることを特徴とするカーボンの製造方法。
