正極と、リチウムを活物質とする負極と、非水電解質とを備えるリチウム二次電池において、前記正極の表面に、Pt、Pd、Rh、Ir、Ru、Ti、W、Sn、Mo、Re、Os、Au、Cd、Tl、Ge、Pb、Bi、Cu、Ag、Hg、In及びSbよりなる群から選ばれた少なくとも一種の金属元素が担持されていることを特徴とするリチウム二次電池。
