【要約】【課題】野菜や草花等の種子から効率的に種子伝染性病害を防除し、高品質の無病種子を得ることができる方法を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】種子に対して物理的・化学的手法による消毒を施し、種子保菌量を低下させた後、種子伝染性病害の病原体に対して拮抗性を持つ有効微生物で種子を処理する種子病害防除方法である。有効微生物には、複数の菌株を用いることにより、防除効果と定着性を向上させることができる。有効微生物としては、キサントモナス(Xanthomonas)属に属する病原菌に対して拮抗性を持つパントエア(Pantoea)属細菌やレクレルシア(Leclercia)属細菌が使用できる。
