【課題】野生型鉄道虫由来赤色ルシフェラーゼと同じ発光スペクトルを示すが室温下でも安定に発光する酵素を提供する。【解決手段】ブラジル産鉄道虫由来赤色ルシフェラーゼ(luciferase)を取得する。該酵素は、pHに非感受性で、ルシフェラーゼの中では最も赤色の発光を示すが、酵素として活性が低く、また不安定である野生型ルシフェラーゼに変異を入れることにより、赤色とは異なる、天然型と発光スペクトルは変化しないが、高活性と安定性を備えた赤色変異型ルシフェラーゼを得ることが可能となる。更に異なる発光色のルシフェラーゼを活用したマルチ遺伝子発現解析を行う際、測定装置の校正などを容易に進める標準化に使用される。【選択図】図2
