【請求項1】撮像素子により撮像した画像のうちの所定の複数の画素から成る局所領域の前記画素の輝度の平均値と、前記局所領域の中の画素を複数に分割した局所部分領域での画素の輝度の平均値を求め、前記局所部分領域の輝度の平均値と前記局所領域の輝度の平均値との値の相対的な大小を前記局所部分領域毎にビット化するコード化処理を行い、このコード化処理を識別対象の画像について順次行い、前記コード化処理を行った情報を比較判定して、複数の画像を識別することを特徴とする画像識別方法。
