Wood database is a portal database about wood specimens housed in the xylarium of the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute (TWTw). It's constructed with three databases;
1) Database of Japanese Woods
This database contains surface views of wood specimens, optical microscopic images of preparations, and images of voucher herbarium specimens.
2) Database of Wood Specimens
This database contains specimen no. (TWTw No.), family name, species name, original wood specimen no., collection
date, collector(s), herbarium no. of the voucher specimen, herbarium housing the voucher specimen, provenance, country, altitude, latitude, longitude, habit, habitat, various notes, and note on collection or accession.
3) Microscopic Identification of Japanese Woods
This database is an identification system of Japanese woods based on the IAWA List of Hardwood Identification (IAWA Committee 1989).
