【請求項1】 内側コアと、前記内側コアの外周面を囲む外側コアとを有するコアを備え、 前記内側コアのクラッドに対する比屈折率差は、前記外側コアの前記クラッドに対する比屈折率差よりも小さく、 前記外側コアの全体にエルビウムが添加され、 LP11モードの光の理論カットオフ波長は1565nm以上とされ、 LP21モードの光の理論カットオフ波長が1530nm以下とされ、 LP02モードの光の理論カットオフ波長が980nm以下とされ、 前記内側コアの直径をD1とし、前記外側コアの外径をD2とする場合にD1/D2が0.5以上とされ、 前記内側コアの前記クラッドに対する比屈折率差をΔnciとし、前記外側コアの前記クラッドに対する比屈折率差をΔncoとする場合に、Δnci/Δncoが0.1以下とされる ことを特徴とする増幅用光ファイバ。
