【課題】微生物が産生する酸化マンガンが時間の経過と伴に嫌気条件になるの防げ、陽イオン吸着能の低下を防止した重金属吸着剤及びその製造方法の提供。【解決手段】微生物が産生した酸化マンガンを加熱処理し、微生物に由来する有機物を十分に除去した重金属吸着剤。加熱処理は、微生物が産生した酸化マンガンを300〜500°Cの範囲に加熱し、加熱処理の温度を一定の温度(500°C)以下とすることで、酸化マンガンによる陽イオン吸着能を維持できる重金属吸着剤。【選択図】図3
