【課題】テルル(Te)を含有しないあるいはテルル(Te)の含有量を減らし、かつ、セレン(Se)の含有量を減らした、373K以下において安定して高い無次元熱電性能指数を有する熱電変換材料、および熱電変換材料を用いた熱電変換素子、熱電発電モジュール及びペルチェ冷却器を提供する。【解決手段】Ag2Seを含む基材と、前記基材中に添加された硫黄(S)およびテルル(Te)からなる群から選択された少なくとも一つの元素(M)とを有し、前記基材中のセレン(Se)の原子数に対する前記Mの原子数の比率であるxが0超かつ0.06以下であることを特徴とする熱電変換材料。【選択図】図8
