脊椎動物は、心臓・牌臓・胃など多くの左右非対称な臓器を有しますが、左右軸決定の機構は未知のままです。本研究は、旺発生における左右の位置情報の伝達・確立機構を分子レベルで明らかにし、臓器反転などの異常発生メカニズム解明の手掛かりを提供します。
