【請求項1】 被照射体の照射対象に対して荷電粒子線を照射する粒子線治療システムであって、 前記荷電粒子線として、第1荷電粒子線と、前記第1荷電粒子線とは粒子の種類が異なる第2荷電粒子線とを照射可能であり、 前記第1荷電粒子線および前記第2荷電粒子線を加速する加速器と、 前記加速器で加速された前記第1荷電粒子線あるいは前記第2荷電粒子線を前記照射対象に照射する照射装置と、 前記被照射体を挟んで対向する位置に配置され、前記第1荷電粒子線のエネルギーを計測するモニタと、 前記モニタによって計測されたエネルギーに基づいて前記被照射体の前記第1荷電粒子線に対する第1阻止能比分布を求め、前記第1阻止能比分布に基づいて前記第2荷電粒子線に対する第2阻止能比分布を演算する粒子線CT画像生成装置と、を備え、 前記第1荷電粒子線と前記第2荷電粒子線との組み合わせは、前記第1荷電粒子線が陽子線で前記第2荷電粒子線がヘリウム線の組み合わせ、または、前記第1荷電粒子線がヘリウム線で前記第2荷電粒子線が炭素線である組み合わせ、のいずれかである ことを特徴とする粒子線治療システム。
