【課題】従来の活性炭を用いた電気二重層キャパシタに較べて、静電容量の大きい電気二重層キャパシタを提供する。【解決手段】コイン積層型グラファイト繊維からなる分極性電極と、電解液と、電解液のイオンのみを通過させるセパレータと、集電極とからなり、背面に集電極を有する一対のコイン積層型グラファイト繊維からなる分極性電極をセパレータを挟んで対向させた構造体に電解液を封入したセルからなる。グラファイト・エッジ面積が大きいコイン積層型グラファイト繊維を用いるので、従来の活性炭を用いた電気二重層キャパシタに較べて、単位面積あたりの静電容量が大きい電気二重層キャパシタが得られる。【選択図】図1
