非磁性層を介して対向して積層されている強磁性体層の内、一方の強磁性体層に隣接して反強磁性体層が設けられている磁気抵抗効果膜において、前記反強磁性体層の組成が一般式Crx Mny Ptz (x, y, z: atomic %) で表される合金からなり、このx, y, z は32≦ x≦ 50 、 36 ≦ y≦ 53 、 11 ≦ z≦ 17 、 x+ y+ z = 100を満足することを特徴とする磁気抵抗効果膜。
