【課題】 フェノール性水酸基の割合を多く含み、反応性基の導入が容易であるリグニン誘導体を提供し、また、樹脂原料として有用な反応性基を導入し、高い架橋密度が期待できるリグニン二次誘導体を提供する。【解決手段】 バイオマスを分解して得られるリグニン誘導体であって、前記リグニン誘導体はフェノール性水酸基とアルコール性水酸基をモル比として9:1から8:2の比率で有するものであることを特徴とするリグニン誘導体。前記リグニン誘導体が、ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィーにより測定したポリスチレン換算の数平均分子量が300〜2,000であるリグニン誘導体。前記リグニン誘導体に、反応性基を導入したリグニン二次誘導体。前記反応性基は、エポキシ基であるリグニン二次誘導体。【選択図】 なし
