リチウム含有複合酸化物を主体とする正極と、非水電解液と、負極とからなる非水電解液二次電池において、前記負極は、X線回折による格子面(002)面の面間隔のd002値が3.354Å以上でC軸方向の結晶子の大きさが200Å以上の黒鉛の表面を、アモルファスコークス層またはX線回折による格子面(002)面の面間隔のd002値が3.43Å以上でC軸方向の結晶子の大きさが200Å以下のコークス層で被覆したものであることを特徴とした非水電解液二次電池。
