自車両周囲の状況に応じて車両特性を変更する車両用制御装置において、自車前方の所定範囲を検索し、自車前方にある障害物を検出する障害物検出手段と、検出された障害物の存在する位置における道幅残量を演算する道幅残量演算手段と、演算された道幅残量に基づき車両特性を変更する車両特性変更手段と、を備えたことを特徴とする車両用制御装置。
