障害物までの距離および方向角を検出する対物距離検出手段と、自車両の移動距離およびヨー角の変化を検出する自車移動量検出手段と、前記対物距離検出手段で得られた障害物までの距離および方向角と前記自車移動量検出手段で得られた自車両の移動量に基づいて、障害物の一点の位置データを演算して求める演算手段と、この演算手段で得られた複数個の障害物の一点の位置データから障害物の形状を推定して駐車スペースの長さおよび駐車スペースの入り口の方向を演算する手段と、を有することを特徴とする駐車空間検出装置。
