【要約】【課題】撥水性が付与されたSiO2 膜からなるコーティング膜及びその製造方法と、撥水性が付与されたSiO2 膜を防汚性表面として持つ物品を提供する。【解決手段】 CH3 基及び/又はC2 H5 基を残すようにCVD法でSiO2 膜を形成すると撥水性コーティング膜となる。望ましくは、膜厚が10Å以上であり、且つ水に対する接触角が90°以上である。Si原子とCH3 基またはC2 H5 基を含むモノマー材料と、酸素ガスを含む混合ガスを、モノマー材料100重量部に対して酸素ガスが10重量部〜1000重量部の割合で、真空槽内に導入し、CVD法によりCH3 基及び/又はC2 H5 基が残存したSiO2膜の薄膜を基材上に形成する。
