- 現代社会においては「通信」を介した「情報」のやりとりを伴わずに何らかの活動を営むことは困難となっている。このような状況において信頼のおける情報を安定して通信できるための技術が特に重要となってきている。このための技術基盤である、「誤り訂正符号」「情報圧縮」「通信方式」「情報セキュリティ」等に関する研究を行っていく。
