サファイア基板上に形成されたInxGayAl1-x-yN(但し0≦x≦1,0≦x+y≦1)層を少なくとも1層含む半導体発光素子であって、前記サファイア基板表面に堆積されたZnOバッファ層を含むことを特徴とする半導体発光素子。
