    The Industrial Research Institute of Osaka Prefecture (IRI) was first established at the old site of the Osaka Prefectural Government Office.

    Izumiotsu Branch (textiles) was founded.

    Sakai Branch (industries) was founded.

    The lzumiotsu branch was separated from the institute as a Textile Research Institute.

    Izumisano Branch (textiles) was founded.
Purpose of establishment:
The Institute is a public research institute founded
to do technical guidance and improvement of
industries in Osaka, especially of
small-to-medium-sized enterprises.

(1) Research activities
Joint research:
TRI Osaka solves problems in cooperation with enterprises
and universities through mutual responsibilities for
technology, facilities, funds, etc.
Commissioned research:
The staff of TRI Osaka undertakes researches under
commission from enterprises.
