Purpose of establishment：
Dr. KITASATO Shibasaburo is famous for his pure culture
of Clostridium tetani, discovery of tetanus toxin,
study of tetanus immunology, and establishment of a new
field of therapy, called serotherapy. Spirits of
"pioneering, gratitude, wisdom and practice, and
unyielding," which were realized through Dr. KITASATO's
research activities, were inherited by foundation of
this University. The University contributes to progress
of scholastic culture and welfare and hygiene of
society, by education and research of deep theory and
wide application of life sciences, based on the spirits
of Dr. KITASATO Shibasaburo.
