【請求項1】カメラの撮像画像による車線形状情報に基づいて自車両の車線中央付近からの横変位を検出する横変位検出手段と、前記横変位検出手段により検出された前記横変位に基づいて、自車両を車線に沿って走行させるうえで車両に付与すべき基準操舵トルクを算出する基準操舵トルク算出手段と、を備える車両用車線維持支援装置であって、 地図データベースに格納されている道路形状情報に基づいて、自車両の進行方向における前記カメラの認識可能な範囲の道路形状及び該範囲を超える遠方の道路形状を検出する道路形状検出手段と、 前記道路形状検出手段により検出される前記道路形状に応じて、車両に付与する操舵トルクを、前記基準操舵トルク算出手段による前記基準操舵トルクから変更する特性変更手段と、 を備えることを特徴とする車両用車線維持支援装置。
